2. Principle

We process personal data only where necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services. This website uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services and creates no user profiles.

3. Hosting and delivery

This website runs on infrastructure operated by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare processes technical connection data on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Where data is transferred to the United States, this takes place on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses together with supplementary safeguards. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure, performant and stable delivery of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

4. Server log files

When you access the website, the following data is processed automatically:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of access
• page or file requested
• volume of data transferred and HTTP status code
• browser type and operating system
• referrer URL, where transmitted

This processing serves the delivery of the page, the security of our systems and the prevention of abuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). This data is not merged with other data sources. It is deleted automatically after a short period, and at the latest after 30 days.

5. Contacting us

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process the details you provide (name, email address, area of interest and your message) solely in order to handle your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry is aimed at concluding a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We delete the data as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected, unless statutory retention periods apply.

6. Local storage in your browser

This website sets no cookies in the technical sense. Two values are stored in your browser's local storage and are never transmitted to our server:

• aeterna-language — your language choice (German or English)
• aeterna-cookie-consent — your decision in the cookie notice

Both entries are strictly necessary to provide the service you have expressly requested, within the meaning of § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG. You can delete them at any time via your browser settings.

7. Typefaces

The typefaces used — Playfair Display and Montserrat — are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external provider, and your IP address is not transmitted to any third party.

9. Updates

We update this privacy policy whenever changes to the website or to the services we use make this necessary. The version published here applies to each subsequent visit.
